Outreach Worker

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team at a Special Educational Needs School in Knutsford. As an Outreach Support Worker, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of pupils both on site and in the community. This is a Grade 6 support staff position with term time only hours, working 4 days a week, with flexibility in choosing days, but once timetabled, the days will be fixed. The position is available for an immediate start.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality support to pupils with special educational needs, both within the school setting and in the community.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of educational activities and support programs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
  • Foster positive relationships with pupils and their families to ensure holistic support and progress monitoring.

Qualifications

  • HLTA qualification or equivalent experience in a similar role.
  • Understanding and experience of working with pupils with special educational needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with pupils, colleagues, and families.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work effectively in different environments and support varied needs.

Day-to-day

  • Work closely with teachers and other support staff to plan and deliver inclusive educational activities.
  • Provide individual and small group support to pupils, both on site and during community outings.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of pupil progress.
  • Collaborate with external agencies and professionals to support pupils’ holistic development.
