The role will initially be for one term but potentially will be for the academic year. The role will be working with Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues and challenging behaviour.

The ideal candidate will have previous Teaching Assistant experience, working with pupils with Behavioural Difficulties. Previous experience working with pupils with Autism is highly desirable.  An understanding and training in PEC’s, Teach or Team Teach would be desirable.

In order to be considered for this role we require you meet the following criteria;

  • Hold a relevant teaching assistant qualification (e.g. NCFE, CACHE or NVQ Level 1, 2 or 3) (desirable)
  • Have eligibility to work in the UK or be a UK resident
  • Have previous experience of working with children in the last 2 years
  • Excellent knowledge of the full curriculum and assessment frameworks
  • Previous KS1, KS2, KS3, KS4 and KS5 experience
  • Experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs
  • Two references working with children
  • Hold a current DBS that is registered with the update service or be willing to apply for a new one

Nurture Teacher is required for a long term role as soon as possible who is compassionate, keen and caring individual to join the team to support pupils with Scoial, Emotional and Mental Health issues and challenging behaviour. – leading the learning of a group of pupils who experience a range of needs and challenges (primarily social,

ensure that barriers to learning are reduced and to support students achieve their full potential.
– To take a supporting role in monitoring to ensure that the school’s systems for promoting positive behaviour

– To plan and deliver engaging and motivating experiences relevant to the nurture group principles (children’s
learning is understood developmentally; the classroom offers a safe base; nurture is important for the
development of self-esteem; language is understood as a vital means of communication; all behaviour is
communication; transitions are significant in the lives of children).
• To develop an appropriate, broad, balanced, relevant, differentiated and challenging curriculum to all pupils
appropriate to their needs.
• To provide support for a named group of children through a carefully structured timetable that balances

Mechanic’s Teaching Assistant

Maths HLTA

A Higher Level Teaching Assistant is required for a long term role supporting the delivery and progression of Maths at a Special Needs School. The role will be supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues and challenging behaviour.

The right candidate will have:

Good GCSEs in English and Maths as a minimum.
Experience supporting children with SEMH difficulties and a variety of SEND.
Experience facilitating and delivering interventions, small group sessions and 1:1 sessions.
The ability/willing to support and/or deliver a variety of subjects.
Strong and consistent classroom and behaviour management skills and the ability to work with challenging pupils with a wide range of emotional- and attachment-needs.

Emotional resilience and be motivated by challenge.
Experience or willingness to deliver vocational subjects such as BTEC, Functional Skills or ELC.
The desire to progress professionally within a nationally expanding child focused service.
The desire to be engaged in all aspects of school life from the academic to the pastoral.
A passion to make a real difference to the education and lives of young people.
A drive to facilitate progress and growth though the building and modelling of positive and supportive relationships.
