Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant

Salary/ Rate: £90 per day
Exclusive Education is looking to appoint an SEMH Teaching Assistant to work across EYFS and Key Stage 1 at a Primary School in St Helens supporting pupils with varied Special Educational Needs. This role is for full time to start ASAP.
The ideal candidate will have previous Teaching Assistant experience, will be confident undertaking work to the EYFS to Key Stage 2 curriculum and must have experience in supporting pupils with SEMH including SLD and ASD.
In order to be considered for this role we require you meet the following criteria;
• Hold a relevant teaching assistant qualification (e.g. NCFE, CACHE or NVQ Level 1, 2 or 3) (desirable)
• Have eligibility to work in the UK or be a UK resident
• Have previous experience of working with children in the last 2 years

• Two references working with children
• Hold a current DBS that is registered with the update service or be willing to apply for a new one

The role is to work with pupils suffering with anxiety, ADHD and suicidal thoughts, supporting with Social, Emotional and mental health needs and challenging behaviour. 

The ideal candidate will have previous Teaching Assistant experience, working with pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health. Previous experience working with pupils within a school setting is desirable but school are happy to consider candidates with other experience of working with children and young people from other settings including sports coaching, residential and care.
